The Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC) is a non-profit corporation, established in 1971 by manufacturers of safety glazing products, building code officials, and others concerned with public safety.

SGCC maintains a program which provides for independent, third-party certification of safety glazing materials found to be in compliance with one or both of the following specifications:

American National Standard for Safety Glazing Materials used in buildings - Safety Performance Specifications and Methods of Test: ANSI Z97.1-2004

Consumer Products Safety Commission Safety Standard for Architectural Glazing Materials - codified at Title 16, Part 1201 of the Code of Federal Regulations: 16 CFR 1201
